The leader of our dance company, Jordan Ikitule, was asked to choreograph for the artist 'Tyree' and his new song 'It's Nothin'. He couldn't choreograph for the actual video clip so he was asked to film and release a dance clip as a pre-release for the actual video of the song. Jordan asked me to film and edit his video for him. This project was completely unrelated to school, but I did have to use the school's resources such as the camera, tripod and Adobe Premiere. I also used the skills I have learnt in this class so far to help edit and film this video. I used two different shots in this video but I feel like I wanted to use more angles, but we only had one hour to film so I just worked with what I had and went with it. I don't really like the still shot, how its cropped and you can see the moving shot behind it. I did only have two hours to edit, if I had more time and more shots to work with, I could have come up with something better. It was also hard when there was no vision for the video clip. Most decisions were made by me, such as where we were going to shoot, how it would be edited etc. I thought Jordan had an idea but he just had the choreography so I was pretty much working with a blank canvas. I find it hard when I don't have a vision of what I want the video to feel like or look like. Its not one of my best works but I wanted to post it so that I know what I can improve on for future projects.
