Lens Based Media: Elements of Photography #2

Pattern

In this image, I found pattern in both the ceiling and the air conditioning vent. The ceiling gives off a spotty look while the vent has a straight, geometrical pattern. I think I could have taken a more flattering photo by using my rule of thirds or taken the image from a different angle, but at I caught the pattern in the ceiling and vent well.

Texture

I photographed my vans and caught the texture of the canvas material. You can see the bits of fluff on my shoe and the detailing of the laces and blue canvas. I really like this photograph because of the high amount of detail you can see of the shoe.

Line

The composition of the triangles leads the viewer through the picture space, creating an element of photography called line. The triangles have been placed in such a way that the viewer follows through the image in a curved line. I also like the depth of field used in this image where the triangles closest to the camera are more blurred but gradually get more into focus as the triangles get further away from the lens.
